Tracking Rail Amendments to the BUILD America 250 Act

- [Support] Amendment #046 offered by Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-FL-1) to reduce historic preservation delays on rail infrastructure projects. VOTE YES.
- [Support] Amendment #061 offered by Rep. Valerie Foushee (D-NC-04) to set aside minimum allocations from the CRISI Program for planning, project development, and delivery of rail infrastructure and safety improvements.
- [Support] Amendment #068 offered by Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR-01) to provide rail eligibility for the rural piece of the new Surface Transportation Accelerator Grant (STAG) program. VOTE YES.
- [Support] Amendment #055 offered by Rep. Val Hoyle (D-OR-4) to move the INFRA grant program back into the Highway Trust Fund instead of making it dependent on annual appropriations. VOTE YES.
- [Oppose] Amendment #228 offered by Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA-4) which would remove the eligibility for passenger rail from the Surface Transportation Block Grants. VOTE NO.

- [Support] Amendment #125 offered by Rep. Emilia Sykes (D-OH-13) which would require the USDOT to provide a list to Congress every month listing projects that have seen withheld funds, terminated funds, and/or scoping amendments.
- [Support] Amendment #301 offered by Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV-01) which would clarify that any entity performing traditional railroad work over infrastructure constructed or improved by an FRA grant are rail carriers. VOTE YES.

The past couple years have indeed been difficult for Amtrak onboard service staff – coping with furloughs and job insecurity, adapting to changing protocols and services, not to mention the unfortunate events such as a tragic derailment and a fatal shooting. Nevertheless, our dedicated members at Amtrak have handled these hurdles with the care, attention and diligence for which they’re known.
